The foundations of the specialized Svitavy museum collection capturing the history of washing technology and laundry were laid in 1995.

The museum now features over 150 various types of washing machines and the collection is the second largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. This unique exhibit with over 50 washing devices was opened to the public in 2000. New items are regularly added to the exhibit (click here for more information).
