The library contains 2,500 items thematically focused on the history, society, and culture of the Svitavy region. The collection is divided into the following thematic sub-groups: archival documents, manuscripts, anthologies and book series, and statistical almanacs.
These works are housed in Ottendorfer Library and collectively present the history of Svitavy and the surrounding areas up to the year 1945. A substantial portion of the library is comprised of photocopies of historic publications, chronicles, magazines, and newspapers obtained primarily from the Svitavy State District Archives in Litomyšl and the museum’s collections. The collection library is electronically catalogued and is open for in-house research work free of charge.
